It is only almost a week later that I actually had the time to post this because other things just had to come first.
I can't believe this is already my 3rd time joining the Loyalty Day parade! The first one was back in October 2011, only a few days after I first reported to work post my hiatus. The second one was last year, where I officially covered for the CEAT Centennial year.
This year, our office, the Office of Public Relations, is the main team for documentation. Also, this is the first time I am joining the parade with my mom because we are both under the same main office.
Band is a must!
We were the first ones to go so a lot of offices are still waiting for their turn. Look at the line.
And as tradition, offices prepared a short presentation usually in the form of dancing of a skit.
Lazy blogger alert!
But here are some of the photos I took as we were standing in front of the "stage" watching offices and colleges perform before the guests.
This is the college that I worked with for 15 months, until I transferred to Office of Public Relations. I covered their events for 2 consecutive Loyalty Day events.
I love that my friend, Paully, is now officially covering for CEAT. Here she is under my umbrella as we do a quick catch up.
And also, just recently, Mt. Makiling, where UPLB stands, has been declared as the 33rd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Heritage Park.
Thank goodness for the yellow umbrellas, otherwise, we'd be drenched.
I saw these cuties after the College of Veterinary Medicine performed:
This year the parade started at 3pm. In the previous years, the parade always starts in the morning. Here's the photo that I took as we walked back to our office. We didn't get the chance to watch the rest of the parade after the colleges, but my colleagues who are in charge of the photos stayed and watched the whole thing.
This year, I had more involvement and participation in the preparation and behind the scenes of the Loyalty Day event. Also, Loyalty day or October, is the busiest season of our office as we were all scattered and covering the simultaneous events happening on different colleges. While it felt like an initiation as a newbie (I've only been in the Office of Public Relations for 9 months to this date) , I learned a lot and had fun along the way.
Happy 95th Loyalty day, UPLB!
