Fight Song came 5 years late

I needed this song in 2010. I first heard the mash up and searched for the original one and I fell in love with the lyrics!

Here are some excerpts that spoke to me...or like me.

“ I might only have one match, but I can make an explosion”
“ And all those things I didn't say, Wrecking balls inside my brain”

And of course, the chorus!!!
" This is my fight song
Take back my life song
Prove I'm alright song
My power's turned on
Starting right now I'll be strong
I'll play my fight song
And I don't really care if nobody else believes
'Cause I've still got a lot of fight left in me

Watch the embedded video. Although very twenties, very hipster, but inspiring.  (Hey I was still in my mid twenties when I needed this, but it came five years later.)

Proof that whatever it is... it will pass. Even if you think it is impossible.

Scripted "Sugar": ANTM Model in Maroon 5's Wedding Crashers-inspired video

I can't tell you how many times I have played and watched Maroon 5's Sugar video about crashing weddings. It gave me such happy vibe that I even shared it to my couple clients for good vibes.

If you  haven't seen it, well here it is:

I was really wondering how did they go around crashing 7 weddings around LA with that amount of time of band set up (see first part of the video) and the set up of platform of stage complete with stage lights.

But today, was the big confirmation. Sorry to burst the bubble of those who swooned over Maroon 5's Sugar Video (me included and I'm sure my friend Aya, who's a huge Adam Levine fan). But the wedding crashers-inspired video is indeed scripted.

When I first saw it, I was super impressed how they pulled it off. Actually, because of the video, I downloaded Maroon 5's whole V album and it has been on repeat since last week. Early this morning, my friend's sister shared this photo from a Facebook page.

Look at the hashtag! SHE'S NOT MARRIED!!!

Actually when I first saw the video, there's this third bride who looked really familiar. It turned out to be Raina Heim.

If you don't know Raina, she used to be at the America's Next Top Model, Cycle 14:

I used to watch America's Next Top model so I know. The first one in black is Raina:

But you gotta hand it over to the actors, they did a good job. I still like watching the video even if I know that it's scripted.

What the heck.

Taylor Swift's Cray Video: Blank Space

Okay, I don't think I've written it here before but I'm a Taylor Swift fan for years now. I started to like her so much when I found out that she writes her own songs (just like when I found out that Mariah Carey writes her own songs too!) My favorite album to date was her Speak Now album and have been looking forward to the lyrics of her songs.

And I like her fashion style, her red carpet looks, her hair style, make up, how she treasures her friends, the way she wears her red lipstick, dance like she doesn't care and how she makes money out of a broken heart.

Today I watched Taylor's new video, Blank Space, one of my favorite songs in the new 1989 album, and I gotta hand it to her. I love this cray cray video.

Oh Taylor, if only I could do the same (make money out of a broken heart), I'd be rich like you too! Hahaha!

KLM's creative Lost & Found Service

You have to watch how KLM creatively returns lost items in the plane back to its owner. Super heart warming!  I played the video so many times already and I don't get tired watching this little cutie.

I hope to get on one of these KLM flights and meet little Sherlock (and hopefully not because I lost something in the plane).

We will shamelessly do a selfie.  :)

Probably the best Make Up Tutorial to this date.

This year, I have cut down on my make up purchase and only buy the necessary ones. Most of the time I am only wearing powder and lipstick but most of the time, just bare face.

It must a phase or it must be the age, but after seeing make up stories online, I realized the advantage of wearing less make up.

Today, I found a really good make up tutorial. I love the confidence of this beauty video blogger. Watch this. This is definitely worth your time.

How about an Honest Facebook Movie?

Yesterday morning just before my feeds got flooded with everyone's Facebook movies, I already watched my Facebook Movie and proved for the second time around how very little Facebook knows about my life. (Good thing, I tell ya!)

Even though it contained really good parts, that's not really the adventure of my life. Actually while I was watching mine, I kept trying to look for some significant parts that mattered (because I remember certain things so well) but then why fuss about it? It was a just template designed for everyone's movies anyway and what was shown are based on their statistics. It reminded me of Statigram, an instagram video summary.

I was reading one of my favorite bloggers, Chinie, and she shared this on her blog. Now, how about we enjoy an Honest Facebook Movie?

The [REAL] Anna Banana? (A video reply from the PLDT MYDSL Commercial)

Remember the PLDT MyDSL that I blogged about before? Apparently, the REAL Anna Banana came around and dropped a line to my old post with the link to her allegedly video reply to Derek's Anna Banana I love you a bunch song...

I am not sure if this is part of "testing the waters" of some advertising team/agency, but after watching the video here's what I thought:

  • This is too staged. Too scripted. Even the word/name ANNA in the background is too strategic. It didn't come natural. Or adorable.
  • Song: The words are eaten up, I did not even understand that the first part of the song is a rap. If that is a rap, then I didn't recognize it.
  • I felt exhausted watching this girl sing "I'm not your friend but I'm still hot, hot, hot, hot"
  • The lyrics obviously smacked down the little boy Derek Lorenzo Song for the girl who he claims is the most awesome in class. But for someone who doesn't like Derek - it was an effort on "her" part to write a song, in the same melody, perform that gesture/steps with her hand or whatever that is and go around the world wide web promoting the video.
  • If this is for publicity, Bad publicity is still publicity.

The positive:
  • I personally think the girl in the video is pretty. But I think if I were really to think this is for real life, it seems she's a year older than Derek.
  • Cute bedroom. If I was her age I would love to have a room like hers.

Over-all:
  • If according to rules in Advertising in the Philippines where you cater to the "still" conservative mindset, I doubt if this will make it, because commercials are supposed to show and promote good values. (Remember the old McDonald's commercial that got sacked? It promoted bribery for it showed the Dad handing out French Fries to the cute little kid in exchange for her to answer questions in her Daddy's favor.)
  • I know it's just a video, but it's not just about the video. It's the message that the video delivered. You know when they say if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say it? We'll if you don't have anything nice to say don't film and promote it.
  • There's just too much negativity on the internet. Enough said.

If you've seen this video, what do you think?

**UPDATE***

Here's the UPDATED Video. It turned out to be the a teaser and it's really the video used in the commerical. But the entire video was not shown in the commercial. Here's the TVC:

I love Proposal Stories!

Ask my engaged friends, they know that I always ask for the proposal story. I'm really big about proposals and the marriage itself rather than the actual wedding.I'm partly working in the wedding industry so I pretty much know how stressful the whole preparation is.

This cute proposal video has been blogged about and viewed several times already and it is only now that I finally had the time to click on PLAY.

Someone really close to me got engaged. I am thankful that he proposed on his own and did not involve us (esp. me) in making a proposal video like this for ...

if it were up to his music and style, I do not know how to dougie. :)

PLDT MyDSL's Anna Banana TVC

Have you seen PLDT MyDSL's Anna Banana TVC?

I saw it last Sunday night and I was intrigued. You know the first time I saw it I know that it's about PLDT myDSL ( taking notes from my Advertising Class that within 5 secs from the start of TVC product should immediately appear).

When the characters involved a mom watching a boy singing a song on YouTube, I knew it comes with some sort of values (again, as guided by rules of Advertising in the Philippines) and after watching it, I find the video very timely and it did strike home. ( At a different point.)

Here's the original/complete Anna Banana Song:

Anna Banna I love you a bunch... so kyooot! :)

Happy Heart's Day everyone! <3

Kid in PureGold Clark singing RnB Medley

I swear this video gave me goosebumps!

One afternoon, in between work and reports, my friend Franco asked me to check this video of a kid selling flute in Pure Gold Pampanga.

This kid kicked the ass of the becky teenage kid singing to customers to sell espasol in elbi square.

According to the comments in this clip the kid joined Talentadong Pinoy (a talent show in the Philippines) and was also featured by Jessica Soho.

I'm not surprised if this video will go viral! Somebody tweet this video to Usher Raymond! :)

Planking Fad

My sister came home one night and told me about this whole planking thing.

According to Wikipedia:

Planking or the lying down game is an activity consisting of lying face down in an unusual or incongruous location. The hands must touch the sides of the body and having a photograph of the participant taken and posted on the internet is an integral part of the game. Players compete to find the most unusual and original location in which to play. The term planking is described as the practice of lying down flat with arms to the side, to mimic a wooden plank.

Many participants of planking since 2011 have photographed the activity on unusual locations such as atop poles, roofs and vehicles, while some "plankers" engage in the activity by planking only their upper body and feet while leaving the back suspended.

Planking was also featured on TV:

My sister showed me pictures of her friends "Planking":
Julius Matalog Planking on top shelf
Mitch Calvan Planking inside mobile bus

Antoni Eusebio Planking on a piece of wood
Ivan Pajares Planking on top of cabinet

What's the weirdest place to "Plank"?

Marc Anthony- Machismo much?

Last week when the news about JLo and Marc Anthony officially breaking up surprised me because I've always thought that finally, JLo decided to settle down.

I remember back in college when we were all partying to the groove's of JLo's album ( JLO album, the one what made JLo, JLO!) Mina was telling me that Jennifer Lopez (who was then dating P.Diddy) got jailed together. (See article here) and of course, JLo's short-lived relationship with Ben Affleck.

So when she finally tied the knot with Marc Anthony and got two gorgeous kids ( twins!) I thought, wow, FINALLY! And I admired her for being such a ( just what jenni epperson said) GLAMom!

Best Thing I NEVER Had

You know how sometimes we are caught up in between of "Moved On" and "Starting Over"? I'm a little caught up in between these days and I've been looking for that perfect song for the moment. Then I received a message asking me to check this out. I already have Beyonce's 4 in my iPod buy Kylie's Aphrodite album is  ruling as of the moment but something about this song makes me go back to Queen B.

The video and Lyrics hit home so much that it deserves it's own airtime post.

P.S.
Watch the video and see just how happy Beyonce's eyes are in this video.

What goes around comes back around (hey my baby)
What goes around comes back around (hey my baby)
What goes around comes back around (hey my baby)
What goes around comes back around (hey my baby)
There was a time
I thought, that you did everything right
No lies, no wrong
Boy I, must've been outta my mind
So when I think of the time that I almost loved you
You showed your ass and I saw the real you
Thank God you blew it
Thank God I dodged the bullet
I'm so over you
So baby good lookin' out
I wanted you bad
I'm so through with it
Cuz honestly you turned out to be the best thing I never had
You turned out to be the best thing I never had
And I'm gon' always be the best thing you never had
I bet it sucks to be you right now
So sad, you're hurt
Boo hoo, oh, did you expect me to care?
You don't deserve my tears
I guess that's why they ain't there
When I think that there was a time that I almost loved you
You showed your ass and I saw the real you
Thank God you blew it
Thank God I dodged the bullet
I'm so over you
Baby good lookin' out
I wanted you bad
I'm so through with it
Cuz honestly you turned out to be the best thing I never had
I said, you turned out to be the best thing I never had
And I'll never be the best thing you never had
Oh baby I bet sucks to be you right now
I know you want me back
It's time to face the facts
That I'm the one that's got away
Lord knows that it would take another place, another time, another world, another life
Thank God I found the good in goodbye
I used to want you so bad
I'm so through it that
Cuz honestly you turned out to be the best thing I never had
You turned out to be the best thing I never had
And I will always be the, best thing you never had.
Best thing you never had!
I used to want you so bad
I'm so through it that
Cause honestly you turned out to be the best thing I never had
Oh you turned out to be the best thing I never had
Oh I will never be the best thing you never had
Oh baby, I bet it sucks to be you right now
Goes around, comes back around
Goes around, comes back around
Bet it sucks to be you right now
Goes around, comes back around
Bet it sucks to be you right now
Goes around, comes back around
Bet it sucks to be you right now

P.S.
Thanks sis for recommending the song! :)

Rainspiration

My art skills are a little rusty, because I've spent too much time writing/blogging than actually drawing and painting. I used to go to an Art School when I was younger and the best output that I've put out so far was an exhibit as part of my Art School Graduation. Still I'd like to doodle from time to time.

Being an Artist runs in the family because my dad is a photographer and my sister is a licensed freelance interior designer/ full-time Industrial Designer/ part-time wedding and events florist. She gets to do most drawings majority of her time (mostly on Autocad though) while, I on the other hand... where here goes my fingers... typing on my laptop and as if it isn't obvious yet, blogging.

But if only I am in the mood to doodle and sketch... my drawings (I used to be really fascinated with islands) would be something in line with the influence of rain... and underneath an umbrella...a kiss.

Katy Perry - Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)

I actually loved the Last Friday Night song when I first listened to the entire list of songs in Katy Perry's Teenage Dream album. I was not expecting that the creative team behind this (Music video by Katy Perry performing Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.). Producer: John Winter. Production Company: Rockhard Films. Director: Marc Klasfeld & Danny Lock) would come up with this funny video!

I love it that it's sooo funny and like this Yahoo Article said:
Set in the 1980s (Wii and laptop aside), Katy Perry's brace-faced, terminally geeky 13-year-old alter-ego Kathy Beth Terry undergoes a classic teen-movie makeover for the party of the year in "Last Friday Night." With the help of her BFF, the appropriately cast "Friday" singer Rebecca Black, Kathy Beth loses her headgear, mustache, and denim jumpsuit for skintight neons and teased-to-the-heavens big hair. Like something out of a teen version of The Hangover (and pretty inappropriate for a teen!), the next morning finds Kathy Beth waking up to a trashed house, a football player in her bed, and a struggle to piece together the details of her epic Friday night.
Check out what's in store for you in this video: (Original Source of pictures are here)

Divine Lee's Hair Tutorial 101

I was feeling a lil emotionally under the weather today so I decided to catch up on one of my favorite blogs DIVINE LEE.

If you're a "becky" like me, you would know why I am so into this blog and have endorsed this to many of my friends.

She's super nice and though she is an amateur in editing videos, she's a pro in self-hair curling. her blog readers have been bugging (actually it's more like demanding) that she post how she curls her hair and finally she gave in and made one! Yey!

I adore this woman. She spreads good vibes and no wonder she deserves to have a good life, good man and good becky friends!

I've been wanting to have my hair digitally permed however, since I got my hair rebonded early last year, I could NOT do so. Damn! I've been wanting to sport a wash and wear type of hair and going for curls seems like a good way to go.
