Marc Anthony- Machismo much?

Last week when the news about JLo and Marc Anthony officially breaking up surprised me because I've always thought that finally, JLo decided to settle down.

I remember back in college when we were all partying to the groove's of JLo's album ( JLO album, the one what made JLo, JLO!) Mina was telling me that Jennifer Lopez (who was then dating P.Diddy) got jailed together. (See article here) and of course, JLo's short-lived relationship with Ben Affleck.

So when she finally tied the knot with Marc Anthony and got two gorgeous kids ( twins!) I thought, wow, FINALLY! And I admired her for being such a ( just what jenni epperson said) GLAMom!

Check her ad for Gucci's UNICEF Benefit:

And I love how Gucci team shot and documented the Behind the Scenes as well.

Marc Anthony and JLo seemed like a power couple. In these videos you would see how involved Marc Anthony is with JLo's projects.

And he performed with her at the American Idol Season 10 finale.

I've read something from the internet before that Marc Anthony supervises JLo's career and goes to her shoots. I've seen some clips from American Idol's last season that Marc is backstage and watches the TV screen while contestants ( read: male singer aspirants) hit on JLo on national television. I'm trying to locate that BTS video of the making of JLo's Into You MTV where Marc was also with the crew.

I thought that Marc was very supportive of JLo now that she's back with her new album LOVE and hotter than ever after having twins. Now I am reading some rumor off the net that Marc's got problems with JLo's success.

Machismo much?

Not that I am saying that Marc Anthony's got someone on the sides but I just read an article today how he was going all flirty at his concert, saying he is labeled single,  a week after their official announcement that he and JLo are ending their marriage. I learned last year that men/husbands flirt/cheat to validate themselves especially when their masculinity is threatened by the success of their partners. They have this inevitable need to feel being the "boss" of at least their household.

While women conceal what happened (say, divorce, legal separation, annulment and the likes)  by saying: "We just grew apart" and move on with their life.

I know it's my feminist side that's kicking in but I have seen cases like this right before my eyes and I must say that women should not be punished for their success. It is not the woman's fault if the woman is bringing home the bacon than her husband.

Oh well.
