Last Monday, when work and classes got cancelled, I got into Digital Sketching. Or should I say Digital Doodling? I borrowed my mother's iPad and started doodling using one of the Apps. One of my favorite bloggers, Chinie Diaz, also doodles so I got inspired.
I haven't sketched/doodled since 2008. The last time I did it, I drew a very detailed converse sneakers while listening beside my agent back when I still work in a BPO call center. He liked my drawing so much that he asked for it (Naks!). I honestly do not know why I stopped sketching. I used to paint during elementary until high school, I even took Art classes when I was in grade school.
I'm not an expert or a pro when it comes to digital sketching.Plus it's so hard to draw using just the forefinger. I became addicted and yet it's getting painstaking because I couldn't control getting color out of the lines. The OC in me is not pleased at all because some areas looked blotchy. Here are samples of my work that I instagrammed and tweeted:
I also added a few fancy stuff with other apps on my Mom's iPad.
The next day my mother took her iPad with her so I borrowed Ate Helen's iTouch. These two photos are my digital sketch using my Achi's iTouch.
This is called "Jasmine" inspired by one of my favorite Disney Movie:"Alladin". Actually that's just a joke. I just named it "Jasmine" after I saw the finished product. It's so hard to doodle using an iTouch.
The next one is called "Don't go Jason Waterfalls". It's a spin off from an old TLC song "Don't go chasin' waterfalls..." (It's a private joke and it gets cornier and cornier as I explain it! Haha)
I had forgotten how relaxing Sketching is. I think I would like to compete with my mother in using her iPad.I don't want to buy my own iPad/iPad mini because I have no income generating use for it. I am the only one in the family who doesn't own a touch screen, apple product and yes, I'm the only one who still uses the click wheel and I like it! Haha!
Anyway, my sister Aprille Araguas also sketches on paper and sends her sketches to her clients by scanning or photo uploaded from her iPhone5. While it looks...well...neat, I told her that from now on, use digital sketching. So I went online and searched for a stylus for an iPad/iTouch/iPhone. I googled like a mad woman and I found a seller online on the same day, placed an order by Wednesday and today I'm supposed to finally get it.
I'm so excited.
