Because @joyjarumayan pumped up my Halloween Spirit!

Anyone close to me knows that I have this thing about Halloween. Halloween is like my personal holiday and through the years I’ve celebrated it in my own little way by playing dress up and attending Halloween parties.
Halloween 2009 at Amber, The Fort

In 2009, I came as Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s and partied in Fiamma Makati together with my  friend Joy. She came as a red fairy complete with shoes and wings. My friend Mina came as Helen of Troy and Kaye came as Sexy Witch.

I love Joy's Tinkerbell shoes!
This guy came as a Balik Bayan Box and I thought it was hilarious!
Last year 2010, the first time I planned to party in elbi, I dragged my friends into joining this really crazy night and we had such a great time planning the whole thing.

Coffin Building at Cecile's Abode

I was planning to keep it low this Halloween because I was set to go trick or treatin' with friends from Grad School, but then I got an overseas text from Joy (who was then in China) asking what costume/character we'd be donning for Halloween! Joy, even abroad, still has the Halloween spirit so that pumped my spirits up, PRONTO!

We're thinking how can we top last year's super fun Halloween with friends? While thinking, I decided to reminisce the fun Halloween we had last year. Here's our 2010 Halloween Inspirations. ( I was still on sabbatical break from writing last year that I didn't blog about this but I got tons of photos to immortalize this crazy event).

Jan and gf, Mae - Halloween Party goers
Aprille as Wednesday Adams
Vane as Pumpkin Girl

Poch as Pepito Manaloto

Miggy as Zombie Doctor
Lyle as Paul Bearer (complete with Urn, Marc as the Urn because he's missing in action during those days)
Joy as the corpse bride
As the Evil Queen from Snow White
And the STAR of our TEAM:

Rogus as... is. ( Joke lang friend!)
Rogus as the Walking Coffin!
Peak of that night:
Rogus and his game face
Joy fixing her gown

Back of the coffin (with the names of our friends)

While doing the make up

How scary is this?

We got friends as mourners

Partyyyy!!!
Halloween is the one day where you are encouraged not to be yourself and you can come as your greatest fear or just someone you know you want or will never be.

Mid planning yesterday I got a sweet text from Joy :
"Yes, for the spirit of Halloween! Eto lang ang gathering natin na masaya tayo and nakikita ang team effort kaya let's do it with everybody, o diba? Kinabog ang for the spirit of Christmas! Hehe!"
And as my favorite blogger says:

"But really, the secret to an amazing Halloween is to make a conscious decision not to whore it up. And hone your Google-fu."
-Regina Belmonte

Let's do this!
