Just Gown Peg-ing

Early this morning I was watching reruns of Tyra show Wedding Divas when they  talked about wedding gowns and the brides that wouldn't settle for anything less. They even asked some of their friends who are part of the entourage to:
  • lose weight (like 100lbs before the wedding).
  • get identical Indian braids (which are expensive and will NOT be shouldered by the couple).
and others. They even featured a groomzilla who is of course, the groom, who is more obsessed and into it to the wedding preparation and details than the bride herself who even asked his male buddies who are part of the entourage to hit the gym and get fit for his wedding.

Tyra asked the guest, David Tutera, who is a celebrity wedding planner, HOW perfectly normal girls who eventually become bridezillas. He said that he doesn't really know what's going on, but the transformation starts as soon as the ring was on the finger OR they just become bridezillas througout the wedding preparation process.

Anyway, since it'll be June next month, I figured out why join the bridal month bandwagon when I can post one now?

I'm never really the type to imagine my dream wedding ( except that I made some silly wedding invites when I was in highschool and the principal sponsors were Mariah Carey and Bill Clinton) , because I am very particular about finding the one I intend to stand up for, for the rest of my life.

Today, out of boredom, and with the influence of  fast internet and cable, I decided it wouldn't hurt to check out my favorite international and local celebrity wedding style that I loved. I guess it wouldn't hurt to google and get lost in a fantasy... Then I came to this trend of wedding gowns.

(Note: The Photos are from the internet and NOT FROM ME)

Grace Kelly

Next, there's Lea Salonga ( I loved her gown the first time I saw and read about it in YES Magazine)

Then, Camille Pratt's reception gown ( that I also read and seen in YES magazine)

Grace Kelly and Kate Middleton's similar wedding gowns

This is exactly I want, even the color.

I guess I want something that is classic and with a "costume" feel ( I think I maybe a silent or Halloween cosplayer) and by looking at the gowns, I can already feel and tell how comfortable that is when I wear it. Chos!

Anyway, I may be just saying this because I have not experienced how and what it feels like to be engaged, but if I am, I am more concerned and thankful to have someone that I am confident to be willing to spend the rest of my life with. (Because I think it's scary. I don't want to be annulled in three years after getting hitched, Cynical much, teh? ).

In my opinion, the stress of the actual wedding is worrying about what your guests will think. I think the engaged  couple should always think that the wedding is about THEM not their guests.

But of course, who knows I might be...
