Review: BYS Make up eye shadow palette

My favorite part when putting on make up is the putting eye shadow on the lids. I love and want to learn more tricks in blending and just by looking at color palettes, it relaxes me. If I have the freedom to just gawk on a make up counter without the salesladies hovering over me, I would hang out by the eye shadow palette section for as long as I want, testing the colors, blending it on the back of my hand and comparing the pigmentation.

For someone who just loves make up and does not do make up for a living yet, I have three requirements when buying an eye shadow palette:

1. The colors in the palette must be wearable for everyday make up. - To be practical.
2. It must be easy to blend and long wearing. - So there's no need for frequent retouch or potential to smear on the face.
3. It must be affordable. - The most important of all!

I learned from the make up workshop that I attended that while dipping your brush in water to make a regular eye shadow  stay longer, it just makes it harder to blend. Blending to the lid is best done using the fingers because there's just something about the heat on the tips that makes it blend well.

Also, I don't use the eye shadow brush that it came with, I prefer the  individual eye shadow brush that I purchased separately. It gives me more freedom when it comes to swiping on the lids and it also lets the bristles dance across the lids to blend.

So for 5 days, I wore this eye shadow palette that I got on sale and tried this new brand, BYS, from Australia. And to really check if it's really from Australia, I checked the bar code (even if it says made in P.R.C. aka People's Republic of China). Now here's my verdict:

Price:
This palette originally costs Php 449.00. ( I got mine on sale! )

Place:
Available at SM department stores and Watsons

Performance:
Long wearing

Purchase again?
Absolutely. I want to try their matte palette and see if it's just as good. But I will wait for it to go on sale first.

Post Script:
I got the one with the shimmers, the good thing about shimmers is it's self adjusting. You just need to put on base, apply the color generously on your lids and for some reason, the shadow and heavier hues strategically place it self when it supposed to be so there's lesser need for defining the crease using a darker shadow color. There are other palette options to choose from if you want to stick to just one family color.
