So what are primers, really?
The make up trainer last workshop told us, that same with painting the walls, the face also needs primer. Basically it evens out the skin for smooth application of foundation. She also said that BB creams will do if we don't have primers. I've been using Maybelline's BB cream since last year (but not regularly) so I figured out it might be a good way to go since I do not have any primers.
Since I got my new make up toy, I decided to inspect the packaging:
The bottle is cute. It supposed to dispose the content via pump.
No, it doesn't have color, though the packaging looks like white-lilac-ish.
I keep checking how much is in this bottle. I have to admit I am surprised with the bottom area that show's you the little content. It seems like the packaging is "heavier" than the content, or at least at par with each other.
I read from my make up books that it is best to choose CLEAR primers so it would best suit any type of skin.
Second time I used it, the pump started acting up. I got turned off. I opened it and here's what I saw:
Now for the verdict:
- Price - almost reasonable, considering that I got it for Php 399 compared to the regular price of the primers, but when I got home to inspect it, the actual content is less than what I expected it to be.
- Availability - I got mine at SM department store. I did not check if Watson's have it.
- Performance - I did not like it. I was expecting that since it's a primer (and upon reading what it's supposed to do) it's going to perform better than the BB cream, but it did not. I applied it on my face, it looks smooth at first, but middle of the day, it did not even out my skin. I'm using a really good Loreal liquid foundation since last October (which I will blog about soon) and I think it complements the BB cream better than the primer.
Will I buy it again? No. I just want to finish up the bottle and go back to BB cream.

There does seem to be a problem with the pump. I have this too and the pump stopped dispensing product around the third time I used it so i had to resort to shaking it madly upside down just to get to the primer. Geez.
Really? So I'm not the only one who had the same problem. I thought I just got a bad product. I only used mine twice then stopped using it. Used BB cream instead.
