How to survive a concert via General Admission: American Idol S11 Live Tour

Last week, my sister, her beau and my grad school friends attended a concert. We planned it out of a whim weeks before because we all feel like we needed a break.

I've been to Araneta, but I don't remember watching a concert. So I consider last week my first to watch a concert in Araneta via General Admission. Our ticket costs less than a grand and we chose to just listen to them live and don't want to throw in more than 2k for the next level of General Admission.

I'm actually surprised to find a mixture of the crowd in GAs. Most of them are really just into the music and just wants to dance along. of course, it wouldn't complete without concert trolls pushing against your body. I am reminded last week why I am not a fan of concerts: I have this ridiculously wild fear of sweaty crowds that might tick a potential stampede. I certainly do not want to be a statistic. But I managed to survive the concert by following these steps:

1. Load up with food before the concert.
2. Make sure you hydrate yourself enough to survive for three hours without having the need to pee.
3. Make sure to bring low maintenance, on-the-go, fun and easy going friends. I honestly cannot think I can survive if not for the fun people I am with.

look at the line. I wonder what it feels like to crowd surf.
This is what we did most of the time while waiting ---regardless of location.

Was not expecting Araneta would be full

The opening and some of the photos from the concert:

The next photo is my favorite. My friend, Frankie J, was swaying while singing to the beat, and then he caught me taking a photo of his "moment". Here's his candid moment and his face trying to grab my camera from me! LOL!

Of course, the Pinay Pride, Jessica Sanchez!

It has been halfway through the show and they haven't shown the season winner, Philip Phillips yet. Then he came out and I screamed like a wild hyena so I lost my voice by saturday morning:

He sang Usher's nice and slow and you got it bad. Two of my favorite usher songs! Had I known that he'd be singing it, I wouldn't have spent my battery taking shots of other contestants. My battery was already showing low batt signs so I just experienced him live.

Frankie J came prepared. He took out his iPhone 4S with downloaded lyrics and sang to the song:

 The closing part:

Bye Araneta!

To be honest, the Php 849 ticket was worth it. Im glad we didn't spend anything higher than 1k because, well, they were all very good but I think it was too much if we've gotten the nearer seats.

Plus, the real fun that I had was during the waiting, the laughing, the comments and bloopers of us friends before-during-after the concert. The concert was good but the company of my friends was even better!
