Sanctuario de San Pablo

I keep getting inquiries from friends in Manila about where to go in Laguna other than the forever Pansol Swimming Pools and Private Resorts... then I remembered... Sanctuario de San Pablo!

Last year, just around this time of the year, I went straight from work, took a bus and headed to Sanctuario de San Pablo. I met up with my cousins there because my cousin Stewart and his Mom discovered the place because it's en route to our grandma's house.

As wedding suppliers, (yours truly as wedding/events coordinator and my sister, Aprille Araguas is a wedding/events florist) this Hall/Restaurant is great for wedding styling.

Bar ( Blurred, I know!)

I love this place! I googled their website to check the rates but unfortunately the numbers there are out of service. (Yes I did call!) I hate it when the websites are not updated. I sent an email inquiry to Thunderbirds Poropoint Resort in La Union and never got a reply! ( Yes, the same thunderbirds resort where John and Estrada and Priscilla  Meirelles got hitched last February). So I resorted to my last option which is to send Sanctuario de San Pablo an email inquiry. Nine days later, I got a reply:

Tips
How to get there:

(via commute)
  • From Manila, take the bus going to LUCENA ( Bus stations are in Taft or QC)
  • Ask the driver to drop you off at Sanctuario de San Pablo which is along the road.
  • Sanctuario de San Pablo is located at : Brgy.  San Francisco, Calihan ,San Pablo City, Laguna
(private transportation --- shucks, yes, I drive but I'm not really that good with directions but I will try to give decent instructions)
  • Get a good driver that must be good with basic directions.
  • If you're coming from Manila, take the route from SLEX-Batangas-Alaminos-San Pablo
  • Once you're facing SPC Cathedral, take the right turn ( where the BPI bank is the nearest visible landmark) and go straight ahead turning left before road to Liana's.
  • Go straight ahead, passing Max's restaurant and Coconut Palace.
  • Slow down because after passing Max's Restaurant which is along the road, Sanctuario de San Pablo is just a couple of minutes after the restaurant on the left side of the road ( if the road you're on is bound for Lucena).
  • I hope the instructions that I gave are somehow useful but if not...
  • ASK the locals / Google Map it! :)
Other Good Stuff:

  • Good Food - check!
  • Good service - check!
  • Privacy - check!
  • Parking Space - check!
  • Clean facilities - check!
  • Was not able to check if they have Wifi ( I was still on Sabbatical writing break during that time so I didn't bother to check.)

Happy R&R! :)

It's easier if you drive thru the route going to Lucena, from SLEX. It's just a straight drive from Sto. Tomas, Alaminos, then San Pablo. Yes, it's still at the left, right after Max's Restaurant in San Pablo City, along Maharlika Hiway.
