Early bird gets the Desperate worms

Hardest part being in elbi? Good coffee shops don't open up until lunch hour.

We were craving for an immediate caffeine fix early in the morning when... there's no good coffee shops available at 9am in elbi. We decided to go to elbi square just to try our luck and there's Cafe Altria again (see my previous peppermint mocha review) and figured out this might do the trick.

Elbi Square at 9 am
Then there's Cafe Altria, the earliest of them all
Love the capiz, sound of it in elbi wind takes me back to some resto we went to in Bora
RAVE: Grilled Cheese, Php 65
RANT: Rusty Fork ( tsk-tsk)
RAVE: Cookies and Cream Frappe (Php70)
Rave: Cross dresser becky (gay guy) taking a "pam-profile pic" shot. Ikaw na teh?!
RAVE: Second version of the Cookies and Cream Frappe

In fairness, the grilled cheese and frappes are good. Except for the fork, which we didn't use, by the way. They usually offer student meals, wouldn't really call it Grade A service but the frappes are pretty huge for 70 (yey!). Haven't tried their "student meals" yet, because that's what they really offer the moment you sit down.

Tip: Good place to go to if there's no other choice/destination in mind to kill time. We were there before to kill time as well a.k.a. while waiting for the preferred restaurant to open up. :)

Cafe Altria's Peppermint Mocha

We were waiting for another resto to open up ( most good establishments in elbi and elbi square opens at 12:00nn ) so when we have time to kill and start the must needed girlfriend catch up, the nearest coffee shop within the area (of elbi square)  is the way to go.

When there's a new coffee shop, I always order the safest flavor so that the potential regret is bearable. I love frappes and cold coffee, and when all the other good coffee shops in elbi are still closed at 10:30 in the morning, this Cafe Altria, was already welcoming potential customers with their "Eat All You Can" offer. It's a good thing that they offer hot and cold coffee, smoking area (for smokers) and refreshing capiz curtains while sitting on their wooden furniture.

This time, something finally caught my fancy: They have Peppermint Mocha on the Menu.

Peppermint Mocha, for only Php 70 (Cigarettes not included. Lol)
This is pretty good for Php70.00, if you have Starbucks as benchmark, then forget it. But if you want to be realistic and very much in need of caffeine, Cafe Altria's Peppermint Mocha is a good way to go. :)
