The Hardworking Make Up Brushes

This year, I did the make up of one of the members of a wedding entourage and two looks for graduate school graduation of my friend. Last weekend, I was able to get my first ever paid make up gig out of a referral. I will write about that maybe some other time this week, but while I was cleaning my brushes, I decided to write about my most hard working make up brushes that I tend to use most of the time.

After I cleaned some of my make up brushes, in preparation for my first make up gig.
You can't lug these may make up brushes all the time and just because you have this many, you will not really use it on one face on one session alone.

Here are my most used brush, when doing someone else's make up, in no particular order:

1. Foundation Brush by REVLON.

I use the foundation brush more than the sponge because it reaches hard to reach areas of the face and the liquid foundation doesn't get absorbed by mostly

2. Contouring brush (left) and concealer brush (right). (both by eco-tools)

I use the contouring brush for blush on, soft contouring, and bronzer and the concealer brush on cream concealer. It gives me better blending and easier to apply on the face.

3. Contour and Stippling brush (H&M)

I use this brush for putting on powder foundation and bronzer. I carry this with me everyday because it's flexible and easy to carry around.

4. Blending brushes

This is great for coloring the eyelid crease lines and blending.

5. Eye shadow brushes (angled and regular)

I use this for application of base and other colors on the eyelid.

6.  (Left to right) Setting brush (eco-tools), Lip Brush (suesh), and Lash and brow brush (Bobbi Brown)

Setting brush, I use to fix and brush off some excess powder on the face. I recommend using a long lip brush for the precision of  lip lining and coloring. The Lash and brow brush is for grooming the eye brows and combing of the sticky lashes caused by the mascara.

I'm not really going to do Make up artistry business formally, just for those who would like to have an option. That is because I have a full-time job on weekdays, event coordination gigs on weekends, but it was just really good to do something different from the regular from time to time. :)
