Review: Simple Treats Restaurant, San Pablo City

First, the restaurant should be renamed to: Simple Taste. You know that feeling when you did not get what you paid for?

We had dinner at this place called "Simple Treats by CDC". From what it looks like on the outside, we were expecting really good dining experience. We decided to try this restaurant because it's new to us (they've been around for a year and 3 months as of this writing) and because it's my Aunt's birthday. Sad thing, they do not have proper parking areas. You have to park at your own risk.

Then, the prices are expensive. The supposedly good dish ranges from Php195.00 to almost Php 400.00. More information on this Bad Customer Service + Bland Taste Food + Expensive Prices = Bad Review, after the jump!

We started with this salad:

It's OK but you can actually make one on your own at home. The dressing is like the ones you see at the supermarket, you might even get a better blend.

This meal that my mom and aunt ordered, it costs Php 370.00 and check out the presentation. The food presentation looks like there's an internal family problem going on with how the food was arranged.

Achi ordered the raspberry shake, tastes good, but not really a fan of it.

Since it's our first time, we decided to order different kinds of dish so we can all test it out. I asked the waitress for their best seller, she said it's the rosemary herb chicken thingy. So Achi ordered it:

My sister ordered the spinach pasta:

While I, the one with the simple and most plain taste palette, ordered a safe dish: Chicken Cordon Bleu.

The ambiance is nice, they play music, although we were not able to stay long enough to say if it's really good.

This must be emphasized: They have such Poor customer service. And I know this because we have a business and I worked in the customer service industry for 6 straight years.

The food takes forever to arrive, but your bill comes in a snap when you finally request for the check. The waitresses were not attentive enough. I raised my hand, and signaled for the bill, the waitress (the one wearing a red belt, although not in the photo) just gawked at me and just went inside the kitchen.

Also, the staff were snacking while on the job! Yes, behind the counter. I can see it from where we are seated. And look how they have the glass designed. How are you able to call their attention if you need anything else?

We ordered mais con yelo, and it tastes like BLAH. We had to ask for additional sugar. It took forever to arrive! Sugar na nga lang eh! I raised my hand up to the lady I and reminded her about the sugar, she completely forgot. In fact, they also forgot that we ordered mais con yelo, we had to order it again because my sister and I were looking forward to cap this bland-tasting meal with something sweet. I saw the lady go to the fridge and take out the sugar wrapped in plastic and then went inside the kitchen. I assumed this is to transfer the sugar into a presentable container. I was right.

They offer other stuff like frappes and cakes. One of the staff said that their cakes were outsourced.

In addition, my sister went to the rest room and they have ugly restroom for such a nice facade. I did not even dared to go there myself.

What I really, as in really do not like about this experience it, it is so freakin' expensive to be bland tasting. It felt like they were robbing their customers blind. I don't have a fancy taste palette, and yet I was very disappointed! Bad Customer Service + Bland Taste Food + Expensive Prices = Bad Review of course!

I googled Simple Treats to see if we just happen to be there on a bad day. But no, they are consistent in their poor customer service. Check these out:

I will not bring my foodie friend, Faye, here. Oh no! Mapapahiya ako! (I will be humiliated)

We tried this and experienced the same thing. Sana nag invest sa training ng staff for customer service and actually cook good food, kesa sa nagpaganda lang ng venue, tapos hindi naman masarap. OVERPRICED!
