I've had Barbies, cabbage patch kids and almost life-sized ones that I still keep that will soon be called vintage, but this time I want a doll with a purpose.
I want a Daruma Doll.
According to this website:
One of the most popular talismans of good luck in modern Japan is the armless, legless, and eyeless Daruma doll, or tumbling doll.

I've learned about Daruma Dolls back in 2007 and I'm pretty sure I've used daruma doll as one of my password PCs back when I was still working in the BPO industry. I shared my PC log in with one of my closest friends in the industry and they can never guess why my password says "Darumadoll" instead of what they expect, (name of my current boylet perhaps).
Daruma dolls are usually purchased with a purpose:

I like to get a real Daruma doll from Japan because it symbolizes strength. It's meant to be have more weight at the bottom part because the doll immediately rises up when knocked down.
And like what I've tweeted yesterday, this year is the year of those who knows how to bounce and fight back.

We are like sculptors, constantly carving out of others the image we long for, need, love or desire, often against reality, against their benefit, and always, in the end, a disappointment, because it does not fit them.
