Oh Honey...
Today at the bank while I was waiting for my turn:
Freshman Guy: Miss. I lost my wallet and my ATM is in it.
Bank Employee: Here's the form to fill up the affidavit of loss. Then we'll file for a card replacement.
Freshman Guy: I heard an affidavit of loss costs around Php 200.00, can I just widraw it?
Bank Employee: Unfortunately that's not the protocol. You have to fill this up then we'll go from there. You need to replace your card.
Freshman takes the form then goes back to the Bank Employee.
Freshman Guy: Miss, what if the one who found it will return my card here in the bank? My ATM's my only identification in that wallet. Where's the section for the Lost and Found or Returned cards?
Bank Employee: (Smiles) Honestly, don't get your hopes up but it will never be returned...
Oh Honey.
I appreciate the bank employee being blunt and honest about it, but what is more surprising (at least to me) that there are still some 17-year old freshman living in the world where honesty is the best policy, and returning what is not yours is still the way to go.
Love 'em.
Oh Honey...
The girl from the bar
She called in for a quiet almost late night coffee at a nearby
24/7 coffee shop. Told her I am pretty swamped up with work but I will
definitely catch up.
It’s one of those few rare times that she calls, because usually
she is out of town, out of the country, in meeting and most of the time with
her coupled friends. She’s always missed.
I was already on my way, walking to the coffee shop with the
green umbrella when I got a text from her to meet her at the nearby happenin’
bar.
It was Date Night.
I made my way through the crowd and loud noise..that familiar beat. In fact I can go straight
to the dance floor and dance to the beat. Except that that music’s meant to
stay in my iPod and I’ve retired from this scene more than a year ago.
Then, I saw her. There she was. The girl at the bar.
I made my way through bouncers, people talking, flirting
laughing, and my eyes kind of hurting from the red lights of the bar. I went
over to her and she gave me a hug.
“I always like it dirty” she said, holding her glass to me. I
know she’s referring to her Martini, but if I hadn’t known her since forever, I’d
probably think she’s a first class whore.
“I’m not really dressed for this you know”. I told her, feeling
my jeans and loafers. “ See this scarf? How much hello grandma can I get?!”
She laughed and dragged me on to the dance floor where she met
her friends from the club and danced to some techno beat. I politely said that
I will just stay at the bar while she dance her way into the middle of the
dance floor.
She’s still that pretty, crazy friend that I’ve been missing for
the past years. I was watching her from the bar and though I’ve only been at
the bar for roughly around ten minutes, I could tell from a far that she’s had
too many dirty martinis to drink.
I was watching her be the life of the party, while men surround
her and I am at awe how, at this age, she still flirts like when we were still
in our early twenties. At some point I kind of envied her
early-twenties-confidence that somehow she maintained after all these years.
If this happened several years ago, I would probably go home
with a dent on my self-esteem. Not because I am jealous or I want to steal her
spotlight, it’s nothing like that. It’s some phase of us girls that, even
though we are really good friends, we still tend to be extremely competitive of
one another. No, it’s not just my personal assumption and insecurities talking.
It has been studied by Susan Shapiro Barash and wrote the book Tripping the Prom Queen. Look it up.
Anyway, I am completely aware of the time and it has not been
more than an hour that I have stayed there, but she came back accompanied by probably a new found friend saying she’s really had too much to drink.
I took the matter in my own hands.
“I’ll take you home.” And I did.
We hailed a cab and there she was, holding my hand talking and
rambling about something funny and crazy. Mr. Cab Driver was looking at us from
his rear view mirror. She’s laughing while I pretend to understand what she’s
saying. Even when trashed, she looks really beautiful.
Then I caught on with what she’s saying:
“...you see, all I ever wanted was him to be man enough to love
me...”
Then I recalled what I had seen on the dance floor earlier. When
the DJ yelled “ All the single ladies in the house, say yeah...” She, plus probably
more than half of the girls in the club yelled and wooed and the next thing I knew, she
was up on the ledge and dove right into crowd and started crowd surfing. Only
she can pull that off wearing that really nice dress and some fancy shoes. I
don’t know how she does it, but only she can pull something like that.
Had it been several years back, I probably would’ve been quite
jealous, because I’ve always seen and believed she was so cool.
We love each other since forever even though we’ve
not been burning the phone lines til dawn, she knows that I got her back.
But tonight I thought we’d be able to talk about that things we
don’t usually talk about. But I’m glad she was too trashed to go home because I
know what it feels like to go home, alone and sober, wallowing inside an empty
hole. I wanted to say that I couldn't understand how can someone this beautiful and seemingly fabulous could be so, so, sad. But I totally get it.
We’re all looking for some sort of validation but tonight, I
wouldn’t want to be like this girl I’ve taken home from the bar. Tonight, it
really dawned on me that underneath this really pretty face and underneath the coolness, the flirting, and all the men showering her with flattery and attention lies a very broken heart
that just wants to love and be loved in return.

Celebrity Cabbage Patch Kids
I remember having a Cabbage Patch Kid doll from my cousins.
I’ve always loved it's chubby cheeks and there’s just something about the
Cabbage Patch Kids that sends me directly to childhood.
Anyway I was reading Yahoo News this morning when I saw this
limited edition Celebrity Patch Kids that is up for Charity Auction:
I saw this on this article: ( Note: Photos from the internet)
Kristin Chenoweth
Katherine Heigl
Steven Tyler
If I can request for a Celebrity Cabbage Patch Kid, here are
the top celebrities on my list:
Michael Jackson
Britney Spears
Jennifer Lopez
Kim Kardashian
Mariah Carey
Can you imagine what they would look like ?

Because I could not find a yellow wig
"Were you wearing a wig last Halloween?"
I was not.
But yes, I guess it looks like a wig, especially when Ellis, mid-party asked if I'm wearing a wig and decided to give my hair a tug. Good thing I was wearing my real hair! LOL!
I initially looking for yellow wig but couldn't find anything affordable so I decided to go to Landmark and got this hair color spray.
It's written in what I think Chinese characters and it costs Php 79.95. I tried it on my hair first, a week before the party just to check if it really rinses out.

And it does rinse out with just Shampoo! Actually run it over with water and it'll start to rinse out.

Here's my hair prior to the Halloween party:

| Thanks Thea for taking the Photos and for "spraying" my hair |
I consumed 1 and 3/4 bottles to make sure that it's really covered. It works like a spray net, it'll make your hair feel stiff at some parts and at some point some portion of the "color" will "fall" on your clothes, skin or something, but nothing to worry about. It's totally safe.

His name is Drake
We got a new puppy and he's a 75% mini pinscher. He looks like this (Check pic below) and his name is Drake.
Few days before we got Drake, my sister and I went "shopping" at:
I like going to these fancy dog stores. Check out the stuff that they have for pets:
Anyway, the reason we were in the Pet store is because we're picking up a new shampoo for our Shih Tzu who's been having some major hair problems. So if you have dogs with hair problems, this is the best product that we've tried!
And the reason he's called Drake, because we got him on a Halloween Weekend as a gift. That's Drake-Cula! ( Cornyyyy!!!)

I want to be a Master Mother Packer
“We’re only staying for 2 nights in Puerto Galera and that’s
your bag?!”
I can never forget that look on Mother Lito’s face when he
saw me loading what seemed to be a weekend overnight bag. From what I can
recall, it contained at least 3 swimsuits, some dresses, shorts, towels,
accessories, flip flops, mini bag for walking, sarong and I really don’t remember
but it seemed like I am out for the week... not for the weekend.

There was the walking-down-the-beach outfit, the
hang-out-at-the-bar-during-day-light- outfit, night-life-with-the-beckies-outfit,
swimming outfit (how the hell did I manage to swim with chandelier earrings
on?!)
But several years later, I have learned to keep it down low.
It wasn’t fun loading my bag especially if my becky friends won’t help me with
my luggage (lol!), it certainly wasn’t fun pulling a trolley bag in the sand.
In my attempt to pack light, I came across this article:
Check the Weather
- Uhmm... I wish Philippine Weather is predictable but I guess I’ll just bring umbrella with me everywhere. Boy did I get the surprise of my life when I was in Boracay and it's rainy at some parts of the day.
Make a List of Activities
- Tours, Beach, Night Life, Shopping - check!
Decide on a Color Scheme
- I cannot decide on this (and chances are I will not follow whatever color scheme as long as I am dressed comfortably) so I will proceed to the next step.
Opt for Travel-Friendly Fabrics
- Instead of jeans, I packed dresses, skirts and shorts with light fabric.
Choose Your Pieces Wisely
- Oh damn. This is the hard part. I am set to bring a hair dryer, curling iron and a hair straightener together with other girly hair stuff. I will revisit the “pieces” when I am decided which one to pack.
Scrimp On Shoes
- The article said “The average female airline passenger carries five pairs of shoes in her suitcase.” I packed my trusty crocs flats that’s weather-proof and 1 pair of havaianas flipflops.
Account for Accessories
- I don’t really need accessories for this trip (I'll only be gone for 56 hours). But perhaps earrings would do.
Make A List
- I have this list as early as three months before the trip. iPod (check!) Point and Shoot cam (check!) DSLR for blogging pics (check!) Laptop... nah. I will not bring work with me.
- Also I must have at least one book to keep me company during waiting time at the airport. (Yes, I will leave the hardbound ones at home).
Pack a Bag Within a Bag
- I have a black and pink polka dot weather proof eco-bag, does that count?
Carry Makeup and Meds Separately
- I have a travel overnight kit that houses my toiletries and meds. I plan to bring those lip and cheek tint stains to save on space, so yeah, I will not be needing those bronzers since I’ll come home hopefully “bronzed” anyway.
Let's see if it works.
I miss Barney!
I saw this today and it made me smile.
I've been missing HIMYM Season 7. I admit, due to boredom, I have traded my lust for series to the crazy Kardashians, now I am hooked.
But still, I really miss Barney and his awesomeness.
Man, I gotta learn how to download the series one by one than wait for the entire season to be over and download it in one blow.
I'm more than willing to trade my Friday and Saturday nights for this.

Heidi Klum: Hollywood's Halloween Queen!
It's already the second day of November and I still have the Halloween Fever!
I believe Heidi Klum is the Lady Gaga of Halloween. I secretly think that before even Lady Gaga became the Mother Monster, there already is a Heidi Klum which is Hollywood's Halloween Queen.
While she and I share the same Halloween spirit (close?) , I know, on top of her fabulous annual Halloween parties, I could not top her not even come close to her Halloween costume choices.
I love how adventurous she is when it comes to her costumes. She uses Halloween as her venue for a new adventure unlike those who constantly likes to whore it up!
Here are some of her costumes through the years that I got from my improving googling skills:
I also love how she manages to drag her hubby, Seal, to dress up as well.
But this year she topped herself with another fab costume. She tweeted pics of her being made up for Halloween.
And made a grand entrance by getting wheeled in an autopsy table:

This year, it seems Heidi is scary to party with, but these pictures made me laugh!

Can't wait to see what's Heidi's Plan for next year. Meanwhile... I gotta get back to work.
